Holy crap, that remake was awesome!! Just wondering, if Metallix is gonna be Metal Sonic's upgraded form, what's he gonna look like with all 7 Chaos Emeralds?

That remake was very well done. I hope you come back with the series and make it even better than before! If I may add, your animations were godlike and were always a treat to watch, no matter how long it took for them to come out. I'm an animation major, so I understand the time consumption that comes with these things. Best of luck to you God of Animation!

I must admit, that was pretty good! it has the feeling of the first time i saw SMBZ. Only this time with improved graphics and drawings!

I have three questions if you are doing a remake
1. will metallix final form after acquiring the chaos emeralds be the metal overlord form or something completely different?
2.if the remake is done would the villains that were chosen from the original version come out in a different order or would some be replaced with a better villian?
finally 3.would there be any other major differences if there was a full remake of episode 1 besides the change in the villain and sprites , for example would mario and luigi be fighting against wario and waluigi head on or would they still race?

glad to see you practicing again. If you are still passionate about it then go for it. It shouldn't be too stressful. Yeahhh!

Guys hasn't anyone noticed that his post for the plot of the remaining episodes is gone? Maybe that means he is DEFINITLY is going to continue it!

I was literally going to post what Reiko said almost verbatim. There doesn't always have to be a buildup to a character for them to be compelling. If you feel that you'd like to explore the series minus Basilisx, by all means do so, but I believe that was my favorite content in the series.

If you feel like remaking the first part of the series will help you regain your passion, I greatly look forward to seeing the results. I'm just hoping that it doesn't make you feel like it's even more work than simply continuing or doing a partial redo of the storyline would be. Either way, I'll wait patiently as long as it takes to see whatever phenomenal content you come up with!

P.S.: SMITHY AS THE SECOND STORY ARC BOSS HYPE! Hopefully with reconstructed/improved Axem :D

I miss watching your work man. I hope one of these days you can make a triumphant return back to making awesome works like SMBZ.

Best of luck to you going forward.

Cool

Alvin your old work was awesome. Your remake of the first scene was amazing. Some of the best fight scenes ever have been done by you. Even if you didn't want to do super Mario bros z remake, and made some Kirby thing or something. I would be happy, just to see you return to newgrounds. Your not the animator we deserve, but you are the animator we need.

This was an amazing thing to read about right now. You were the artist that sparked my interest in animation with your SMBZ series. It's nice to hear that there is a possibility of its return.

It's really exciting to see that you may be restarting the series. I don't expect it, but it'd be a very pleasant surprise. I'm curious about something in particular, though:

Will there be something we haven't seen yet that distinguishes the remakes from the original episodes in ways other than aesthetics? For example, a completely revamped fight as well as updated sprites and such.

Also, I've always been skeptical about Wario and Waluigi's characterization. Wario is a greedy treasure hunter that will stop at absolutely nothing to get his hands on anything that's valuable. As soon as he sees treasure, which in this series would be the chaos emeralds, he would charge straight at it in an effort to make it his. I assume Waluigi has the same impulses. This is never really implemented in the storyline at all. The two have always just been following the Mario Bros. from the shadows. If it isn't too much to ask, could you put a bit more characterization into the Wario Bros. for the remakes (provided you follow through with them, of coarse)? I always hoped to see them pop out at the most convenient (if charging at Metallix or another villain) or inconvenient (if charging at our heroes) times for our heroes in an effort to take the emeralds for themselves.

Thanks for reading!

Hey man, the remake preview was great. However, from a personal standpoint, I don't think you should get rid of Episode 7. Although based probably off of personal opinion, it was my favorite. The short fight against Mecha Sonic involving Mario and Sonic, along with the ideal of the glitched Minus World from the original Mario game for a plot convinience was kind of cool. I do agree that it was kind of cheesy how Luigi thumped the watch and alowed them all to escape, but maybe you could make it relevant to the plot somehow. If you wanted to incorporate some kind of new mythical legend that somehow fortells Sonic and Shadow's arrival in the Mushroom Kingdom. But this is just an idea my friend, and it's your series. I will be happy even if you choose not to continue it. It never gets old to me, but seeing something new wouldn't hurt either. I'm looking foward to any of your future work, and I will be patient with other busy things in my life. You will forever have my support. Thank you for making something so awesome. By the way, you've also done a good job with Luigi's comic relief role haha.

Before I say ANYTHING else, I'd like to say that I totally understand that you aren't confirming anything yet, I understand that you don't desire to cancel this show a second time, and I understand that you wanna make sure this is something you're willing to do before diving into it. :)

With that said: Oh my... I can't even begin to explain with words how excited and thankful I am about the fact that you're actually trying to bring this wonderful flash series back into production. \(^O^)/ To be honest though, I just had this gut feeling you'd try again someday (even if it was MUCH later). And man, I'm a happy you did! :D
Actually, the day you posted this news entry was the day after my Birthday ... not that it's significant or anything. XD It was just a really cool surprise. ^_^

Again, I wanna thank you so much for being willing to give this series a second go. I know everyone's sayin' the same thing about how happy they are that you're bringing SMBZ back, but I felt I owed it to you to express my gratitude! After all, you're not exactly getting anything out of this... Besides Internet fame and a huge load of fans of course. ;)
I enjoyed this series so much when I was a kid. Anxiously awaiting the next episode's release. And (please don't take this the wrong way, but) I was quite heartbroken when I discovered that their was never going to be an episode 9...
But, of course, I knew I shouldn't have been ungrateful for the EIGHT whole episodes that you had already made. And I completely understood your situation! After all, the fact that you were working alone (as far as I know) in this project is already more than enough to cause tremendous stress. :( Not to mention having other priorities, tons of fans demanding that you finish the next episode, and the lack of sleep from staying up late creating episodes.
Of course, I'm sure we've all learned our lesson after the supposed cancellation, and I think fans will be more patient with you this time around. ;)

... Sorry this is SUCH a long comment, I'm sure you have better things to do with your time than read this. But I just wanted to say thank you sincerely. :D

The best of luck to you, Alvin Earthworm. I hope you can bring this series to a much-deserved ending this time around. ^_^

Firstly, that scene was absolutly breath taking. It is a huge step up from the older animation used. I hope that you will continue with the series and have fujn doing it.

I haven't been to Newgrounds in years. But SMBZ was something I always looked forward to. If you do decide to remake them and bring it back, I will certainly enjoy it. I've missed the project and wish to see if finished. You have real talent, my friend. But as always, real life takes priority. :)

I've always liked your work, the hatred you was receiving before was a backlash that a lot of animators were getting for using ripped sprites. Your new animation update looks great!! If I could give a suggestion, just write out a brief overview or where the plot should go, don't have to get into all the details so you're not retreading the same plot points. That is what jrpgs are for.

*clap* *clap* *clap*

Well, i honestly never thought i would see you posting again. Glad to see i was wrong mate. I'm an avid fan, and while i won't be taking this as any form of confirmation that you are returning to make flash, i watched your remake clip and saw that the work you made so far looks incredible.

I'm just glad to see you haven't lost your touch and that its good to see you on the portal again, even if its only a news post. Thank you for sharing this, and thank you for sharing this with us. No arse kissing, no begging to return, just glad to see your alive on newgrounds.

Hope to see another news update from you soon on either your DA or Newgrounds page.

Q-Q I never even dreamed this day would come...THANK YPU SPRITE GODS!!!!!!!!!
